Bill, previously referred to as Hubby, got on the roof to take a good look. We had decided to do away with the skylights because they are like mini heat furnaces in the summer and our electric bills skyrocketed. We stuffed them full of insulation and put boards across the inside for a temporary fix. Bill was on the roof to fix the leaking one. He discovered that it had been improperly installed and had been leaking since day one. So he pulled it out and began to repair the roof . There had been so many patches he ended up replacing 72 square feet of roofing. He was up there most of the day because it takes a long time to replace wood, put down tar, lay tar paper, put down more tar and then replace all the shingles. He was so exhausted working in 95 degree weather, but he got it done. A few hours after he finished the afternoon monsoon rains came. We were safe and very dry. A job well done. Only 3 more skylights to go. Yuck.
