I came back to Tucson (we were here in the 80's) after my husband retired. We had been in San Pedro, CA. There is a large art community there. Our live/work space was wonderful, I could get up and walk a few steps to my artwork any time. The problem there was getting people into the studio to see the art. I did festivals and pop up galleries in vacant spaces. For a short while we ran and antique store and showed my art there. I was sad to leave it behind but we wanted to be near kids and grand kids.
I was amazed at the thriving art community here in Tucson and all of the artists I have seen and heard about. I have shown work at festivals in Saddlebrook and Green Valley and at a Galleria Senita during the Loteria art show. We were so lucky when we changed locations to find the space we are in now at 1302 N Alvernon Way. I live in my art gallery and it is wonderful.
I can work on my art and show it in the same space.
I hope you find time to enjoy the Open Studio Tour there are many amazing artists out there.
