#14 La Muerte
La Muerte is death in Spanish. The image is from a Loteria deck of cards. It is a game popular in Spanish speaking cultures similar to bingo using the cards instead of a cage of balls to get numbers on the players entry cards. A gallery here in Tucson has called artists for a November 1 show to come and draw a card and paint it either as shown on the card or as the artist imagines it. The first year I drew #14 and did a painting of Death dancing the night away. This oil painting canvas 11 inches by 14 inches, with its frame it measures 12.5 inches by 15.5 inches.
